President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio are among the top dignitaries expected to grace the Defence Industries Corporation (DICON)’s 60th anniversary celebrations and the opening ceremony of the maiden African Defence Industries Conference slated for on Wednesday, 14th August 2024 in Abuja.
This was contained in statement released on Friday by the Ministry of Defence Director of information and Public Relations, Mr Henshaw Ogubike.
The statement said the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle will on Monday, 12th August, address the press in commemoration of the events to which participants have been invited from reputable companies/organizations, defence Industry stakeholders, Government officials, Military personnel, commercial exhibitors, and industry leaders.
According to the Minister, DICON’s 60th Anniversary celebration will showcase its achievements and innovations as well strengthen relationships amongst stakeholders. The theme of the anniversary celebration is: “Future Frontiers in Africa’s Defence Technology”.
The Minister disclosed that the event will gather the largest defence industry stakeholders in Nigeria and Africa as over 3,000 both local and international will attend as participants.
“Furthermore, the event will focus on investment opportunities, industrial partnerships and future developments in the African defence industry. It will also feature a distinguished faculty of knowledgeable speakers and resource persons from within and outside Africa”, the statement further stated. READ ALSO:
