Ese Brume failed to fulfill expectations in the women’s long jump, finishing in fifth position in the final.
Brume’s 6.70m mark was not enough to make it to the podium.
The 28-year-old won bronze medal in the same event at the last edition of the Olympics in Tokyo.
Ruth Usoro and Prestina Ochonogor, the two other Nigerians in the final also failed to make it to the podium.
It was the first time Nigeria will field three athletes in the final of an individual event at the Olympics .
Nigeria is yet to win a medal at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games.
