The Police on Monday arraigned a 24-year-old man, Olamilekan Adesanya, before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing 131 roofing sheets and boards, worth N615,700.
Adesanya is facing a count charge of stealing, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in January at GSM bus-stop, Itokin road area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
Famuyiwa said that the defendant, with others at large, stole 91 pieces of roofing sheets and 40 plain roofing boards, belonging to one Mr Busari Bashir.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate O.A. Ogbe admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Ogbe adjourned the case till Sept. 5 for mention. (NAN)
