Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has promised to uphold the legacy of late Soji Adagunodo, former South-West Vice Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who died on May 8, 2023.
Makinde made the promise during a remembrance event held in honour of the deceased in Ibadan on Saturday.
The governor equally stated that he would complete a building project named after Adagunodo within the next few months.
He comforted the immediate family and charged them to take solace in the fact that their loved one was resting in the bosom of the Lord.
“I am glad because it has been one year, and we can still see the family together. We can still see the commitment to hold the family together.
“For some people, within one year of passing, the centre may not hold anymore. So, it is a demonstration and testimonial to how my brother handled the home front.
“Some people in politics do get carried away and the home front means nothing to them. They forget that when something happens at the political front, they fall back on the home front,” he said.
Makinde urged the immediate family and the political dynasty of Adagunodo to continue to participate in politics.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls the late PDP chieftain died in the United States of America at the age of 62 years.
Speaking on behalf of the family, one of the deceased’s sons, Mr Soji Adagunodo Jr, appreciated Makinde’s magnanimity toward the family, especially since the demise of their father.
