The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) South-west zone, has elected 45 new executives into various positions across its state chapters to run their affairs in the next four years.
Dr Kunle Adeyemi, Vice-President of REDAN, South-west zone, announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
Adeyemi explained that the election, which held on Tuesday in Ibadan, was conducted under the supervision of the Real Estate Developers Electoral Committee (REDECO), chaired by Mr Omololu Bolarinwa.
The association’s vice-president stated that following the massive turnout by REDAN members across the zone for the election, Mr Babajide Ogunleye emerged as the Secretary, REDAN south-west zone.
He said among other officers elected, Dr Tony Kolawole emerged as the Chairman, REDAN Lagos chapter, while Dr Chidiebere Etoniru emerged the Vice- Chairman of Lagos.
In Ogun chapter, Dr Adeyemi Adeniyi was elected the chairman, while the position of the vice-chairman was won by Mr Eyitayo Oniwide.
He also announced results in other states including Dr Muibi Hammed, now the Chairman in Oyo chapter, while Mr Oluwaseun Owoseni emerged the Vice- chairman.
Adeyemi reported the REDAN President, Prince Akintoye Adeoye, to have described the election process as the best ever organised in his over 16 years of being an executive of REDAN.
The REDAN vice -president noted that the process of the exercise for REDAN South-west zone, being the largest zone of the association, was free and fair, excellent, precise and with high level of transparency and credibility.
Adeyemi charged the new executives to be more professional in their dealings in line with global standards and promote best practices and unity within the association.
The REDAN VP stated that the officers must be wary that they were elected into their various positions to serve; hence must perform beyond minimum expectations.
“It is time to work and change the narrative of REDAN and also assist to address the menace of housing deficit in the country to the bearest minimum.
“This must be done through advocacy, promoting the visibility of the association, and influencing of industry policies, both locally and internationally.
“You are expected to enhance collaboration and discipline, to foster advancement in the real estate sector, as it aligns with the mission and vision of the founding fathers of REDAN.
According to him, the new team in the south-west are highly experienced and professional enough to deliver the mandate entrusted to them, while assuring of his confidence in their abilities to succeed.

Adeyemi said following the conclusion of the election, REDAN president, Adeoye, immediately constituted a three-man reconciliation team to address issues bothering on aggrieved members of the association, especially those that emanated before the elections.
The VP said the team was chaired by Mr Emmanuel Adetola, Group Managing Director, Adron Homes, co-chaired by Mr Kazeem Ajiborode, former chairman of REDAN Ondo chapter, while the secretary is Mr Babajide Ogunleye.
He stated that they were given two weeks to submit their report and expected to bring all the aggrieved members of REDAN together as one big family. (NAN)
