An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday ordered the remand of one Toheeb Jimoh, 24, in a correctional facility in Ibadan over alleged armed robbery.
Jimoh, whose address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy, housebreaking and armed robbery.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice, and adjourned the case until May 30 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offences on Dec. 24, 2023 at about 2.00a.m, at Awontan community, Ibadan.
Oladoyin alleged that the defendant, and others at large while armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, attacked one Samson Akanji.
The prosecutor said the defendant allegedly robbed Akanji of his jewellery worth N1.5 million, cloth materials, and cash of N700,000.

She alleged that the defendant also broke into the house of one Romoke Abiola and stole his block molding machine worth N150,000.
Oladoyin said the offences contravened Sections 516, 411 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
She said it also contravened Sections 6 (B) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004. (NAN)
