Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum says his team didn’t get what they deserved from Friday’s encounter against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
The West Africans edged the 2024 Olympic Games qualifying first leg tie 1-0.
Rasheedat Ajibade grabbed the winning goal from the penalty spot two minutes before the break.
The Super Falcons clearly outplayed their opponent but were denied a couple of times by South Africa goalkeper Kaylin Swart.
Waldrum claimed the Super Falcons were unlucky not to score more goals in the encounter.
“We were unfortunate not to get two, three goals,” Waldrum said after the game.

“(Chinwendu) Ihezuo was fantastic, she was the player of the match even if she didn’t score, her hold-up play was great, she has been playing well in Mexico this season, I think they were not prepared for her.”
The second leg will be played in Pretoria next week Tuesday.
