The Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Technical Committee, Ahlan Sheriff Inuwa has disclosed that the fate of Super Eagles head coach Jose Pesiero lies with the Federal Government and not the NFF despite being directly under the pay roll of the football house.
PROMPT NEWS reports that his contract ended with the just concluded AFCON in Cote d”voire.
Ahlan who revealed this exclusively to PROMPT NEWS at the Goal Project in Abuja, said the board will likely meet next week to review the AFCON outing and make recommendation to the supervising ministry headed by Senator John Enoh.
“Peseiro is a national project not only NFF project. Our duty is to recommend and forward to the Sports Ministry and whatever decision taken, our duty is to implement.
“So far the Federation has good working relationship with the minister and the minister is in charge of sports in the country. His decision and advise must be respected . He is our father , we must consult him in any of our policies for proper guidance,” said Ahlan.
The Kano State F.A Chairman attributed super eagles lost at the final to Elephant of Cote d’voire to fatigue.
“Personally, I am impressed with our boys, they show commitment, focus and confidence. Frankly nobody gave the Eagles a chance to go beyond first round especially after our first group match against Equatorial Guinea which ended a goal a peace.
“But as the game progressed, confidence and hope begin to rise for Nigerians. Football is a religion in Nigeria and we must do everything to protect it being a symbol of our common unity.” READ ALSO:

On the technical ability of Peseiro either to go or not, the chairman declared, “personally he is a good coach, sound but not convincing. Like I said the decision is not me but the board.
“Others may assess him differently any recommendation on him should be collective and not personal”, Ahlan said.
