The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has advised political players and stakeholders to be circumspect in their utterances and actions as regards the political development in the state.
The party said that the differences in the political space in the state would soon be resolved for the interest of the state.
The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Alex Kalejaye, on Wednesday in Akure, stated that the face-off between the executive and legislative arms was being critically examined by the combined teams of national and state leaderships of the party.
Kalejaye explained that the party was very hopeful that the situation would soon been resolved, to wade off avoidable political tension, and engender friendly atmosphere, ahead of 2024 governorship election.
He expressed appreciation to various stakeholders, particularly the respectable elders in the state for their intervention, concerns, words of counsel, and prayers, assuring them that the storm would be over.
According to him, stakeholders should pursue peace with maturity and civilized conducts.
He added that protests and violent agitations, as being contemplated by some groups, could only lead to personal injuries, saying that existing peace in the state should not be negotiated.
“We should be reminded that security agents would not condone destructive conducts under whatever pretence. We should be well guided.
The ruling party commends the good people of the State for their peaceful disposition thus far, and their resolve to resist relentless efforts, aimed at dragging them into unproductive agitations.
“The Ondo APC applauds security agents for all the efforts and sacrifices to ensure peaceful atmosphere. They have been commendably organized, and supportive in this regard,” he said.
