Rivers United defeated Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 2-0 in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second qualifying round contest on Sunday.
The two teams battled to 0-0 draw in the first leg a fortnight ago.
The Port Harcourt club won the two-legged tie 2-0 on aggregate.
Rivers United earned a place in the group stage of the competition following the win.
The hosts missed two penalties in the keenly contested encounter.
Alex Oyowah opened scoring for the Port Harcourt club a minute from time.

The Pride of Rivers are the only Nigerian club, who made it to the group stage of a continental competition this season.
Rivers United made it to the quarter-finals stage of the competition last season.
