Renowned International Professor of Sustainable Development and the Deputy President, Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) in Jamaica, Prof. Ibrahim Ajagunna (PIA), has congratulated Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo on his new appointment as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

While felicitating the newly appointed Minister, PIA expressed confidence that Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo will employ his outstanding administrative ability, knowledge, and expertise and put great commitment to utilizing the tasks before him for the ultimate good of the country and its citizens.

“I felicitate with Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo on his new appointment as the Honorable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is gratifying to see him progressing tremendously in his career and particularly in rendering patriotic services to the country.

“I am confident that, than ever before, you will employ your great administrative acumen and expertise to productively engage the Ministry for the common good of the country and its people”, he said.

The Ikare-Akoko born Maritime Egghead also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for taking cue from global trends and innovation, by creating the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and making a great choice in Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo.

“I also commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this exceptional innovation of his administration. The Blue Economy, which has been embraced by developed countries, has vast economic significance. This is indeed a step in the right direction”.

“The Blue Economy, otherwise known as a sustainable ocean-based economy, is the seventh largest economic source in the world valued at around $1.5 trillion per year and projected to double by 2030 to $3 trillion.

“It is a great development that Nigeria will begin to tap these resources from its vast oceans. This will ultimately benefit the country not just to boost its economy, but also create thousands of jobs, explore alternative energy sources, combat climate change, among others. It is truly a new dawn for Nigeria.” READ ALSO:
