Newly inaugurated NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye has promised to raise the champions prize money from N100 million to N150 million for 2023/2024 league season.
Elegbeleye while speaking to PROMPT NEWS after his inauguration on Wednesday, further stated that this year’s season will witness tremendous improvement in terms of officiating and welfare of players.
He said stringent measures would be taken to strengthen the league to attract foreign players and investors.
Elegbeleye also insisted that venues not approved for league matches last season will remain closed while clubs given provisional clearance will be revisited.
He added that negotiation is in top gear with DSTV to fully return live broadcast of NPFL matches. READ ALSO:

“We have a duty to make our league more attractive. IMC was a preamble, now we have two years tenure, both Physical and human development will be our focus.
“There will be serious enlightenment on the part of club managers and their fans. Points deduction and banishment will still stand”, Elegbeleye said.
