Norbert Okolie, the media officer, Rangers International FC of Enugu, said the club is optimistic that it will beat Bendel Insurance when they meet in the 2023 Federation cup final coming up in Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday.
Okolie made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, saying that the management had put everything in place to ensure victory.
He noted that the club’s aim is not only to beat Bendel Insurance, but also to grab the last continental ticket attached to the win.
The media officer said that the team left Enugu State days back for a close camping to acclamatise with the weather and introduce themselves to Asaba fans for massive support.
“The team has been in high spirit and the players are prepared to follow the coach’s instructions and tactics in the match against Bendel Insurance.
“I am sure that we will come out victorious on Wednesday because Bendel Insurance cannot come between us, the trophy and continental ticket,” he said.
Okolie recalled that Rangers FC defeated Insurance 3-1 on their way to the final against Kano Pillars in 2018 and they will do all in their power to stop the Benin-based outfit.
“Asaba is like a home for us even though Bendel Insurance has a closer link with the City. We are not afraid of a game of this magnitude as we take them the way they come.
“Rangers must deliver the goods to please its fans and pick the continental slot,” Okolie pledged. (NAN)
