Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the election held on February 25, 2023, with wide margin in Oyo State.
Declaring the result in Ibdan, the state capital on Monday, the acting Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, who is the State Collation Officer, announced that Tinubu polled a total of 449,884 votes.
His closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 182,977 votes.
Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party, scored a total of 99,110 while Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the NNPP polled only 4,095 votes.
Prompt News Online reports that Oyo State has 33 Local Government Areas and the APC won most of the seats at the Senate and House of Representatives.
