From Sam Ade, Abuja: The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Godfrey Gaiya, has assured home based Super Eagles of continued government support at the highest level, saying they have become role models to Nigerian youths.
He was speaking after the National League side, FC Abuja, played against the Super Eagles in a test match played at the FIFA Goal Project on Friday in Abuja.
The game was also watched by the NFF Technical Committee member, Austen Elumelu and Coach Siji Lagunju among others.
Gaiya reminded them that Nigerians are eagerly awaiting their qualification for African Nations Cup Championship (CHAN).
“In fact the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, was supposed to have been here to watch the game but thought it was later in the day”.
Speaking, the Team Skipper, Chigozie Agbim assured that they will not let the nation down as the players are prepared to give the qualification matches all it takes.
