The out-going Vicar / Priest of the Anglican Church Of the Resurrection Duboyi (ACORD), Abuja, Venerable Oluwaseun Owoeye has admonished his parishioners to adhere strictly to the ways of Jesus Christ if they are to be called children of God.
Owoeye whose Christmas Sermon was the last in the church as the Vicar-in-Charge also said the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ brought the reign of peace in the world, adding that our Lord Jesus Christ had come once to die for the sins of mankind and is coming back to judge the living and the dead after which He will reign eternally and the righteous shall flourish with abundance of peace.
According to the clergyman, Christians should strive at all time to live sin-free life to be able to inherit the kingdom of God, asking the people of God to be mindful of how they live their lives in this sinful world.
He however prayed for the peace of Nigeria, pointing out that every citizen must pray fervently to God to give the country a leader who will do justice to all manner of the people and turn round the bad situation in the country.
Meanwhile, Venerable Owoeye used the occasion to bid final farewell to ACORD members as he will within the week proceed to his new duty post at Basilica of Grace Church, Gudu near Apo where he will also supervise the Gudu Anglican Archdeaconry, Abuja as the Vicar-in-Charge and Archdeacon.
An emotional Vicar went down the memory lane on his pastoral journey which brought him and his family to ACORD some four years, eight months and some days ago and declared that he has ran a good race and has ended well.
He reeled out the modest achievements he recorded since he became the Vicar of the new church in 2018 till date, pointing out that the church has made progress under his watch.
The clergyman however asked for forgiveness if during his ministry work in the church
he and his wife had stepped on toes, saying it was not intentional even as he asked the parishioners to accord the In-coming Vicar the same corporation given to him while pledging for the understanding of members because the job of the Vicar who is operating outside the church compound is difficult.
