No fewer than 20 persons have been reportedly killed in an explosion which occurred Monday morning at Duku Motor Park in Gombe, the capital of Gombe State.
The explosion was said to have occurred around 10.00 am local time, leaving corpses littering the scene.
Duku, is a major Motor Park in Gombe town where people board buses and cabs to other parts of the north east.
Prompt News gathered that a woman concealed an improvised explosive device (IED) in her bag and detonated it.
Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer Fwaji Atajiri, confirmed the incident, but would not give details yet but assured he would address the press later.
Even though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, all accusing fingers are pointing toward the direction of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram.
Aside the frontline states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, the insurgents have been intensifying attacks in Gombe of late.
