By Gracious Akujobi Former Super Eagles star, Garba Lawal has tipped Coach Samson Siasia to lead the national Under-23 team to win the country’s second football gold medal at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
According to Lawal who was in the squad that won gold for Nigeria in Atlanta in 1996, Siasia has started well by assembling the best home grown players in Abuja for selection stressing that before the qualifier against Gabon comes up in February the team should have taken shape.
He stated that Siasia who led the Nigerian Olympic soccer team to a silver medal finish at the Beijing Olympic Games has the experience and technical ability to qualify for the games billed for Brazil in 2016.
“I believe Siasia will select the right players that will do the job of not only qualifying for the Brazil games but to go ahead and win the gold. It is very possible because we have the talents that can hold their own against the best in the world
“Again Siasia cannot afford to disappoint Nigerians who are now looking up to the Dream Team to bring them succour after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the Africa cup of Nations” he stated.
