The Edo State House of Assembly has set machinery in motion to resolve the crisis rocking the state-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma.
Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Roland Asoro, in a statement on Thursday in Benin, said the assembly had resolved that its Committee on Education should immediately step into the matter to find lasting solutions to the issues.
Asoro urged stakeholders to submit memoranda on the issues at stake, while the stakeholders in the school environment were also advised to come up with memos on their grievances concerning the school.
He also appealed to the aggrieved parties to sheath their swords and allow the assembly to seek solution to the crisis in the school.
He, therefore, urged ASUU to allow peace to reign and allow academic activities to continue in the institution.
The Deputy Speaker appealed to staff and students to remain calm during the period of mitigation (NAN)
