Baba, who was represented by AIG Isaac Akinmoyede, said 11 trainees could not meet up with the components of the standards set for the exercise.
The Police boss disclosed that the exercise took place simultaneously in 15 other Police Training Institutions across the country.
He said the training was designed to transit the recruits from civilians to professional police officers with the orientation to meet the challenges of policing an increasingly democratic and rule of law-driven Nigerian environment.”
The I-G said: “”This ceremony also represents another huge step in the drive by the Federal Government to change the narratives of Policing by addressing the age-long manpower gap that has been inhibiting optimal police service delivery in the country.
“The Federal Government’s policy of recruiting 10,000 Police Constables annually is not only unprecedented in the history of law enforcement in Nigeria.
“It clearly confirms the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to restore the lost police primacy by bequeathing to our beloved country reformed and well-positioned Police Force with renewed capacity and commitment to attain its internal security mandate.
“Recruitment projects the determination of the Federal Government to address the social factors that accentuate the commission of crimes, which is unemployment.
“The import of taking 10,000 able and active youths out of the unemployment market annually is that these young men and women have been saved from the temptation of crimes,” he said.
According to him, another 10, 000 recruits will be resuming training under the 2021 batch of the exercise.
He said it would close the gaps in relation to the operational efficiency of the Force as well as welfare regime of the Force.
He said all the recruits will be posted back to their local government origin to further deepen community policing strategy of the Federal Government.
