Report reaching our news desk says an improvised explosive device planted near a primary school in Jos, Plateau State capital, has been discovered.

The bomb disposal unit of the Nigeria Police it was gathered was promptly drafted to the scene to defuse the explosive.

Having successfully defused the device, the students of Tin City primary school have been sent home by the school authorities.

It was gathered that the local device contained about one kilogram of explosives and targeted at blowing up the cash machine outside the school.

Plateau Command Public Relations Officer, Abu Emmanuel, when contacted said he was yet to be briefed.
