The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has directed that all the invited players for the national U-17 team camping exercise at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja must submit their COVID-19 test results.
Eaglets new handler Fatai Amaoo has pencilled down 50 players for the first phase of screening and training with the cadet team in Abuja before relocating to Ilorin, Kwara State for the second phase of the training.
The Golden Eaglets technical crew were informed that the team will shift base to Ilorin, Kwara State, where they will be expected to step up their preparations for next month’s U17 AFCON zonal qualifiers in Benin Republic.
“Moving the team to Ilorin is to ensure proper concentration. You know in Abuja there are a lot of distractions mostly from various interest group. Ilorin Is better
“NFF also has confidence in the coaching ability of Amao. He has been there before and he knows what it takes to handle under age players.
“He has been told to make screening exercise short and focus more on the training considering that the time is short for the competition ” Said Sanusi.
Nigeria is drawn against Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in the zonal qualifiers, which kick off on December 8.”
