The Nasarawa state House of Assembly has lauded governor Abdullahi Sule for approving a three-day capacity building workshop on how to conduct public hearing for effective legislative proceedings, general knowledge of legislation and improve service delivery for the state lawmakers.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by Mr Jibrin Gwamna, Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, in Lafia, on Sunday.
The three-day re- training workshop themed” Conducting Public Hearing As a Critical Tool in Legislative Practice and Procedure” which commenced on Friday the 9th, ended today (Sunday) in Jos, Plateau State, with the speaker calling on the participants to make good use of the knowledge gained at the workshop.
“I want to thank His Excellency, Engineer A A Sule for approving the workshop to train us, management staff and secretaries of the House standing committees.
“As this workshop will go a long way in enhancing our legislative duties, peace, good governance and will also ensure effective service delivery, ” he said.
He expressed satisfaction with the entire process, saying that participants were better equipped on the conduct of public hearing and other legislative rudiments.
Balarabe Abdullahi charged them to adopt and maximize the knowledge they gained at the workshop in their legislative activities.
He assured the governor of more partnership and continuous cordial relationship for the interest of the state, while also re-assuring the people of the state of the assembly’s readiness to pass resolutions and bills that will be of benefit to them.
