The Kwara government says it will formulate policies that will promote the development of small and medium enterprises to reduce unemployment rate in the state.
The state Commissioner for Finance and Planning, Florence Oyeyemi said this at a two-day workshop with the theme: “Invigorating Public Procurement Process-during COVID-19 pandemic “organised by her ministry in collaboration with the state Public Procurement Agency held in Ilorin on Thursday.
According to her, the process will remove all hurdles and ensure ease of doing business in the state.
She said the present administrations will introduce policies and programmes that will be of benefit to the people.
Oyeyemi explained that the state government has taken a bold step in harmonizing charges on businesses to reduce hardship on the common man.
The Commissioner noted that the state government has also put in place measure to assist small and medium scale business owners to facilitate fund to run their businesses.
She said the public procurement act in the state will give business owners the opportunity to bid and carry out processes online.
In his remark, the state Commisssioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Femi Agbaje said the state government will give all the necessary support required to ensure ease of doing business.
He said the state government is interested in doing things differently to allow business to flourish.
Agbaje, however, assured that those who have idea without resources will be assisted.
