The Bayelsa State correspondent of the National Mirror newspapers, Emmanuel Gemudu is dead. He was said to have slumped and died in his home at Agudama-Epie in Yenagoa, while discussing with his wife in the early hours of Saturday. The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed shock at the sudden death of Gbemudu, who was said to be hale and hearty. Meanwhile, family members have confirmed that the corpse of Emma Gbemudu has since been deposited at the Mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa. On hearing the news, the Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa Police Command, Alex Akhigbe, expressed shock at the demise of Gbemudu, saying “We spoke on mobile phone on Friday during working hours. He called and made inquiry about an incident that happened.
