By Gracious Akujobi The organizers of Warri Relays and CAA Golden Grand Prix have called on national federations, athletes’ representatives and managers to send entries of intending athletes for the 2014 edition.
Slated for June 13, 2014, in the oil rich Warri City, Meet Director Omatseye Nesiama told Prompt News that only athletes in the IAAF top-30 in the particular events will be considered and the entries must be received on or before May 10, 2014.
Nesiama said the request must indicate the athlete’s full details including IAAF ranking, personal and seasonal best (PBs and SBs) in events being entered for.
Athletes who qualify to participate in the one day event will be notified by the meet organizer and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).
Nesiama who is also AFN Technical Director said, “Athletes placed on the stand-by list would also be communicated accordingly as the meet organizer would be responsible for the flight tickets, accommodation and feeding for all athletes confirmed for the meet”.
The Theme of this Year’s Event is; “Speed of the Baton Inspiration for the Next Generation”. This Meet has a CAA Golden Label and is the brainchild of The Delta State Government of Nigeria (DTSG) in conjunction with the AFN.
