The Federal Government has approved the report of the Conciliation and Consequential Adjustment Agreement reached by the Ministry of Labour and the Organised Labour in the heat of the threat for nationwide strike.
This much was disclosed Wednesday in Abuja by the Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige while briefing State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
According to him his ministry submitted to FEC today the report on the Conciliation and Consequential Adjustment Agreement reached between the Ministry of Labour and the Organised Labour during the recent negotiations for the implementation of the newly approved National Minimum Wage.
Ngige revealed that the adjustment of salaries of the civil servants in both States and Federal; security agencies including Military and para- military and the academia have been concluded even as the Federal Government has agreed for the implementation of the payment of the new minimum wage should commence on April 18, 2019 while the payment of the new salaries should be done on or before December 31, 2019.
