The Modakeke Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Tuesday docked one Adejumoke Gbadebo, 35, over alleged Honda car theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp Ona Glory, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 4, around 11a.m at Oke-Dio Area, Modakeke-Ife.
Glory said that the defendant stole one Honda CRV car with Reg No: PR 233 KJA, Eng No:.B20B4066809 & Chassis No: JHLRD 1855 UC811545, valued at N600,000, property of one Dr Aguiyi Nelson.
He added that the defendant forged the sales agreement and changed the ownership of the Honda CRV car.
According to him, the defendant breached the trust posed on him by defrauding and converting the property of Dr Aguiyi Nelson’s, Honda car to his own without any authority.
The prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened sections 383, 390(10a) 434, 463 and 467 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of stealing, forgery and fraud.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye, applied for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term, and pledged that his client would not jump bail but would provide responsible sureties.
Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji granted the defendant bail in the sum of N750,000 with one surety in like sum.
Olatunji added that the surety must swear to affidavit of means, reside within the court jurisdiction and the surety must be a close relation.
She stated further that the defendant must provide three years tax clearance certificate as well as produce three recent passport photographs.
The case was adjourned until Sept. 30, for hearing.
