By Gracious Akujobi It will not be business as usual for Premier League clubs when the new season begins, as the League Management Company (LMC) has announced a new rule book to curb malpractices.
League Chairman, Nduka Irabor told Prompt News Online that the rule book which will be made available next week prescribes appropriate sanctions for earring clubs.
According to Irabor, “The rule book will be out next week after following all due processes. We won’t play in a vacuum but follow the prescribed rules to uphold the standard.
“We have learnt several lessons from the previous season and we have worked towards making penalties such that do not erode from the sporting elements of the game”.
Concerning violence and other fans’ behavior detrimental to the league, the LMC boss cautioned that there would be stiffer sanctions according to the new rule book.
“If the kind of thing that happened in Uyo, Akure and Illorin last season happens again, we may not be talking about points, we will be talking about something even heavier.
“We may take points from one team but we do not have to give it to the next team.
“The rule book will be out next so it will be detailed. The new rules are disincentives to those who may want to instigate malpractices, hoping to get points” he concluded.
