The convoy of Governor Muritala Nyako of Adamawa state was on Friday attacked by gunmen suspected to be members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram
The incident was said to have occurred early in the morning around Shuwar area of the state.
Governor Nyako, had gone to pay condolence visit to the people who were attacked by Boko Haram on Tuesday when his convoy was attacked.
Nyako, whose flag vehicle was reportedly damaged however escaped unhurt in an escort vehicle and no casualties reported.
The Defence headquarters on Thursday confirmed 10 dead during the Adamawa attack- six insurgents, one soldier and three civilians.
The insurgents also burnt down bank and filling stations.
