The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Saturday announced that it has concluded arrangement to deploy a total of 7,941 ad-hoc staff to conduct the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Briefing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Halilu Pai said the personnel comprises of corps members and students of federal tertiary institutions.
He expressed confidence that the high number of ad-hoc staff would be enough for the 766,132 persons that were duly registered as voters in the state.
The breakdown shows that 2,195 will work as Presiding Officers while 5,605 will work as Assistant Presiding Officers.
According to him, each Corps member would receive a sum of N11, 000, made up of N7, 000 as honorarium and N4, 000 as basic transport fare.
Meanwhile, to guarantee commitment on the part of the corps members, Pai said money meant for those engaged had been paid into the account of Ekiti state office of NYSC.
