Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima Tuesday said 54 of the abducted girls shown in the latest video released by dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram have been identified by their parents.
On Monday, Boko Haram released the video shown hundreds of schoolgirls reciting some verses of the Holy Quran.
Shettima told #BringBackOurGirls campaigners at the Borno State Government Lodge in Abuja that efforts were ongoing to identify more of the girls.
According to him, the State Government would put in place Trauma Counseling Centre to put the girls that escaped back in the right frame of mind.
The #BringBackOurGirls campaigners were at the Borno Lodge in Asokoro, to impress it on the Governor to do more so that the girls could be brought back.
The leader of the team, a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, said the visit was aimed at seeking clarification on some issues, urging the governor to ensure the girls are rescued.
President Goodluck Jonathan has also set up a Fact-Finding Committee headed by Col Ibrahim Sabo (rtd) as part of the ongoing efforts to #BringBackOurGirls.
The abduction of over 200 girls of Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State since April 15, has sparked outrage across the world, compelling world leaders to now speak in unison to #BringBackOurGirls.
Foreign troops and intelligence officers are expected in the country any moment to compliment the efforts of our security operatives that are currently involved in the rescue operation.
