The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as the worst in Nigeria’s history.
Baba-Ahmed made the assertion during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he also warned that the northern region would face greater difficulties if Tinubu secured a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The PRP chairman accused the Federal Government of being disconnected from the realities confronting Nigerians, particularly issues of hunger, insecurity and economic hardship.
He said the situation in the North could deteriorate further if the President returned to office in 2027.
“The North will be finished if Tinubu wins in 2027. He’s the worst President ever in the history of Nigeria. The problem is the disconnect between the government and the people,” Baba-Ahmed said.
He also criticised Tinubu over his reported response to concerns raised by Catholic bishops during a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Baba-Ahmed, the bishops had drawn the President’s attention to the hardship, insecurity and other challenges facing Nigerians, but he alleged that Tinubu dismissed their concerns.
He argued that the President should have treated the concerns raised by the religious leaders as an opportunity to assess the impact of government policies on citizens.
“Catholic bishops went to the President. These are highly respected people. He must have thought that it would be a good outing for him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t even have agreed to meet them.
“They went to him, politely said to him, Mr President, the people are not happy with you. They are hungry. They are insecure. There are a lot of problems running in the country,” he stated.
Baba-Ahmed alleged that Tinubu rejected the bishops’ assessment of the situation instead of acknowledging the difficulties being experienced by Nigerians.

“For every issue the bishops raised, the President said, no, you are wrong. I am right. There is no hunger in this country, what you are saying is not true,” he added.
The PRP chairman maintained that the alleged disconnect between the government and citizens remained one of the major challenges confronting the country, warning that the situation required urgent attention ahead of the 2027 elections.
