Benin Republic moved to second position in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following a 1-0 win over leaders Rwanda in Abidjan.
It was Gernot Rohr’s side first win in the qualifiers.
Doukou Dodo netted the decisive goal for the Squirrels eight minutes before the break.
Rwanda and Benin Republic have four points each but the former have a superior goal difference.
The Super Eagles dropped to fourth position on the Group D table following the outcome that game.
Finidi George’s side could however secure top spot of they beat the Bafana Bafana on Friday (today). READ ALSO:
