South Africa head coach Hugo Broos on Wednesday named a 36-man preliminary squad for his team’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
The Belgian tactician is expected to prune down the list to 23 in the next few days.
Broos kept faith with most of the players that came third at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Bafana will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, June 7.
The former African champions will then host neighbours Zimbabwe at the at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, 11 June 2024. READ ALSO:

South Africa are second in Group C with three points from two games.
The Super Eagles occupy third position with two points from same number of matches.
