Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is not sure Taiwo Awoniyi will be released for international duty next week.
Awoniyi returned to action against Liverpool last weekend after spending few weeks on the sidelines due to injury.
The 26-year-old is expected to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
But Cooper remain uncertain the forward will take part in both games.
“The question of international duty[for Awoniyi] is a conversation for next week,” Cooper told Nottingham Post.
“At the moment we are just focusing on what we might be able to get out of him this weekend([against Aston Villa].” READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles will face Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International, Uyo on Thursday, November 16.
Jose Peseiro’s side will then take on Zimbabwe four days later.
