Super Falcons midfielder, Toni Payne has backed the team to qualify for the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
PROMPT NEWS reports that Randy Waldrum’s side opened their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Canada last Friday.
They however still face a tough fight to make it beyond the group stage with games against co-hosts Australia and Republic of Ireland still to come.
Payne reckoned the former African champions can earn a place in the knockout round despite the quality of teams in their group. READ ALSO:

“I think we played a really defensive game against Canada,” Payne said in short interview posted on the Super Falcons Twitter handle.
“I think we expect to have the same performance against Australia, I think we expect to have more of the ball, more attacking.
“I think all the teams in our group are beatable teams, we have a really good team and if we stick to our game plan we have a very good chance of making it out of the group.”
