Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi has made history as the first African footballer (male or female) to play in six World Cups.

The centre-back made an appearance off the bench in Nigeria ‘s 0-0 draw against Republic of Ireland on Monday afternoon.
PROMPT NEWS reports that Ebi took the place of Oluwatosin Demehin six minutes from time.
The 40-year-old made her first appearance for the Super Falcons in 2013.
The defender also featured at the 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019 editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. READ ALSO:

The Super Falcons earned a spot in the Round of 16 following the draw against Ireland.
The former African champions will face the first-place team in Group D in the knockout round.
