South Africa were held to a 2-2 draw in their Group G clash at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Friday morning.
The Banyana Banyana surrendered a two-goal lead in the game played at the Dunedin Stadium.
Linda Motlhalo gave South Africa the lead a minute after the hour mark after she was set up by Thembi Kgatlana.
Motlhalo’s goal was originally ruled offside, but VAR eventually overturned the decision to the delight of the crowd.
Kgatlana doubled South Africa’s advantage on 67 minutes.

Sophia Braun got the first with a superb strike, before a glancing header from Romina Nunez restored parity.
Both teams will need results to go their way in their last group games for them to progress to the last 16.
