A Faculty Member in the Pan-Atlantic University and an advocate for Igbo Presidency, Dr Austin Nweze, has expressed optimism that the Presidential baton will be handed over to the Igbo race come 2023.
He expressed the optimism recently while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, adding that only an Igbo man can lead Nigeria to the promised land if given the opportunity.
Dr Nweze maintained that the Igbo man has a talent from above to lead and change ugly situations anywhere he finds himself as a result of his transparent nature.
He speaks further, “Igbos will not make the mistake of choosing the wrong person again.
“The only time Nigeria will become transparent is only when an Igbo man becomes the President because it is God-given gift. Anywhere they go, they make it better for themselves not minding that it is not their home.
“Only an Igbo man that will develop Nigeria. No other ethnic group has the capability to develop Nigeria better than an Igbo person. So, put Igbo first.”
Nweze, a former Ebonyi governorship candidate in the 2011 and 2015 elections under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), declared his support for Governor Umahi’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and urged him to proceed to the national level.
“This is his last tenure as Governor but because of the work he is doing and for him to complete it, if the law allows third tenure, I will even urge him to go because Ebonyi State needs him more than Nigeria needs him and if Nigeria is wise, Nigeria would want him to duplicate here in Ebonyi State.
“Personally, I will advise him to go to national level and represent us. He should take his political adventure to the national level,” he stated.
