A first half goal scored by fleet-footed Moreto Cassama was all the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau needed to beat the Super Eagles 1-0 to snatch the three maximum points in the Match Day 3 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier tie played at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Friday evening.
The win ensured that Guinea Bissau now lead the group with 7 points and the Super Eagles who have continued with their uncoordinated rhythm of football dropping to the second place with 6 points.
It was a match spectators expected Nigeria to thrash their opponents if the array of “stars” led by the SC Napoli hitman Victor James Osimhen in the line up. But it was not to be as the Nigerian team played badly and paid for their lackadaisical attitude to the game.
