Chidozie Awaziem is a major Injury doubt for Nigeria ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The 25-year-old Alanyaspor defender trained apart from the squad Monday after he had fully worked out with the rest of the team the previous day.
On Monday, he was put through his drills by the Super Eagles physio, while the rest of the squad went through their own session.
He last played for his Turkish club on December 18, 2021, but he since missed three games thereafter.
In October, he was sidelined by a hamstring injury for a week.
The importance of Awaziem in the heart of the Super Eagles back four has shot up in the absence of the reliable Leon Balogun.
The former FC Porto ace was outstanding for Nigeria in the final World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde in November.
