AITEO Cup Women’s football defending champions, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt today at Lafia City Stadium dispatched Sunshine Queens of Akure with two unreplied goals to book their ticket for the semi final stage of the annual competition.
One goal in each half of the game by junior international striker, Yetunde Adeboyejo secured the deserved victory for Coach Edwin tutored team.
Rivers Angels will be joined in the semi final stage by fellow Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) teams, Ibom Angels that eliminated hard-fighting Delta Queens of Asaba by a lone goal in Enugu.
Meanwhile, Joy Jerry and Adebisi Saeed’s goals in the second half of the rain- soaked match in Ijebu-Ode helped Bayelsa Queens beat Osun Babes just as Edo Queens edged out Confluence Queens in Calabar by one solitary goal.
