By Olusegun Lawrence The consideration of the 2016 budget slated to commence at the Senate on Tuesday could not go ahead as the budget document is reported missing in the National Assembly.
Prior to the resumption of plenary, the Senators went into a closed door session during which they were told that the budget proposal could not be found.
Prompt News recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari, had on December 22, 2015, laid the budget proposal of N6.08 trillion before a Joint session of the National Assembly.
It was however rumoured recently that the budget proposal had been withdrawn by the Presidency.
But, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting last week Wednesday, debunked the withdrawal report.
