An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded two unemployed men who allegedly robbed a Point of Service (PoS) operator of N250,000 at gunpoint.

The defendants are Dickson Samson (43) and Ademola Noah (43).

Both men reside at Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

They are charged with conspiracy, robbery and unlawful possession of firearm.

The Magistrate, Mr F. O. Ameen, did not take their pleas.

He said that he needed advice of the state director of public prosecutions and ordered that the defendants should be kept at the Kirikiri custodial facility.

The magistrate adjourned the case until July 3 for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Glory Godday, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Jan. 16 at High School area of Ikorodu.

Godday said that the defendants robbed one Miss Rashidat Adeyeri on her way from work as a PoS operator.

The prosecutor said that the defendants also robbed Adeyeri of an Infinix phone worth N86,000.

Godday said that the defendants were armed with a gun and cutlass during the robbery and were later arrested with a locally-made single-barrel gun with live cartridges.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 296, 298 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015. (NAN)
