The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 16-year-old boy, Solomon Ibiwoye, after he was caught carrying a pistol in the Ebute-Ero area.

Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin announced the arrest in a post on X on Sunday, praising the alertness of residents who discreetly informed the authorities.

According to Hundeyin, a search of Ibiwoye’s home led to the discovery of a locally made firearm and an unspent cartridge.

He noted that the arrest was a step toward making the streets safer and confirmed that investigations are still ongoing.

Hundeyin emphasized the role of public vigilance in crime prevention, encouraging residents to report suspicious activities.
