Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno, on Friday, inaugurated 10 housing units for teachers at Buratai community in Biu Local Government Area of the state.
He also inaugurated a secondary school project at Tum village in Biu.
Inaugurating the projects, Zulum said the houses comprised 10 units of two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, built to address the housing needs of teachers, especially at the grassroot.
He said the projects aimed at reinvigorating the education sector and improve living conditions of teachers in the state.
The gesture, he said, was part of broader effort to reduce the housing deficit, and reiterated his administration commitment to enhance access to quality education and healthcare services in the state.
“I want to assure you that this administration is committed to providing affordable, quality healthcare delivery system, and most importantly education, which is the bedrock for any meaningful development.
“Without education, there will be no meaningful development,” he said. (NAN).
