The former governor of Zamfara, Abdul’aziz Yari-led faction of All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on its members to remain calm and law-abiding over the recent judgement of the Federal High Court, Gusau.
The court in its judgement dismissed Yari camp’s suit challenging the dissolution of its executive by the party’s National Caretaker Committee under Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe.
The faction’s chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Monday that the group would not be deterred by the judgement.
“We are more determined to pursue the case to its logical conclusion because of our strong conviction that justice will only be delayed rather than denied.
“However, we are not surprised over the judgment because the outcome was already predicted by the former governor of the state, Sen. Ahmad Yariman-Bakura through his recent interviews with journalists.
“This will not discourage us from not appealingl the judgment in an attempt to seek justice”, Liman said.
According to Liman, if an internal squabble in the party could cost it the colossal loss it incurred in 2019 general elections through the Supreme Court judgement then there is still hope for a light at the end of the tunnel.
He commended the efforts, contributions and resilience of the Yari for his efforts in making the party strong in the state,
“We also extend our appreciation to party executives at state, local government and ward levels, other stakeholders and all party members for their resilience in supporting the party,” he said.
Liman assured the party supporters in the state that the struggle would be kept alive until success was achieved. (NAN)
