The Plateau Command of the Nigeria Civil Security and Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,500 personnel ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
Nanko Rimvyok, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the corps, stated this in a statement on Sunday in Jos.
Rimvyok said the deployment aimed at ensuring a peaceful and violent free celebrations in all parts of the state.
She said the deployed personnel comprising cover and physical duties would secure lives and property as well as critical national assets and infrastructure.
Rimvyok quoted the Commandant of the corps, Mr Alexander Barunde, as urging residents of the state to be law abiding and be Christ-like during the celebrations.
”The commandant warn mischief makers to sheath their plans as law enforcement agencies will leave no stone unturned until they are brought to book and dealt with decisively when caught,” she said.
The Commandant also advised residents to support all the security agencies in their bid toward ensuring lasting peace and security in the state. (NAN). READ ALSO:
