The Tiv Culture and Social Association in Taraba has commended the state Governor, Agbu Kefas on his handling of the recent killing of some travellers in Donga Local Government Area of the state.
The seven victims were said to be travelling from Benue to Maihula in Bali area of Taraba when they were attacked by unknown persons.
Mr Victor Salemga, the association’s Youth Leader, told newsmen on Friday in Jalingo that the governor’s intervention and directive to security agencies to arrest the attackers had helped in de-escalating tension over the incident.
“The action of his excellency is a demonstration of a leader that is sensitive to situations that affect humanity.

”His directive to the security agencies also demonstrated his seriousness and commitment in maintaining peace and order in the state.
“I will also appeal to the state government to assist the families of the victims by ensuring that they are given befitting burial,” he added.
Salemga advised youths in the state against engaging in any act that would lead to breakdown of law and order. (NAN)
